Pre and Postoperative Rehabilitation
Structured rehabilitation following surgery
Post-operative Rehabilitation
Recovery after surgery is a process. Once the initial healing phase has passed, appropriate rehabilitation can help restore movement, strength, function and confidence as you progress through your recovery.
I work with people following orthopaedic and musculoskeletal surgery, providing rehabilitation that is tailored to the type of surgery, your stage of recovery and your individual goals.

Rehabilitation After Surgery
Your rehabilitation programme will depend on your procedure, your current physical condition and any restrictions or guidance provided by your surgeon or healthcare team. Rehabilitation may focus on:
- Restoring mobility and range of movement
- Reducing stiffness and improving function
- Rebuilding strength and physical capacity
- Improving movement and control
- Gradually increasing load and activity
- Regaining confidence in the affected area
- Returning to exercise, work or sport
A Progressive Approach
Recovery does not always follow a straight line. Rehabilitation needs to progress according to how your body is responding and the demands you eventually want to return to.
I use a progressive, movement-based approach, adapting exercises and treatment as your recovery develops.
For more active individuals and athletes, rehabilitation can eventually progress towards the specific physical demands of their work, exercise or sport.
Working With Your Healthcare Team
I will take into account your surgical procedure, stage of healing and any relevant medical information when planning your rehabilitation.

Returning to Everyday Life & Sport
The end goal of rehabilitation is not simply to regain movement. It is to help you return to the activities that are important to you.
This may mean returning to everyday activities, work, exercise, recreational sport or competitive performance, depending on your individual goals.
